Traffic Back to Normal after Car Fire in South Metro

A car on fire caused traffic backups in the south metro.

The car was on the ramp near 169 Northbound and Highway 101 Eastbound. The right shoulder was blocked, causing extensive traffic problems in the area.

Buses, Light Rail on Holiday Schedule Today

Metro Transit buses and light rail will operate on a reduced holiday schedule today, Memorial Day.

The North Star train line will not operate, with the exception of a trip to and from Target Field for today's Twins game.

Transit Study Reveals Need For "Rapid Buses"

Metro Transit is planning a series of meetings across the region to release its findings of a study on the need for "rapid bus" service along 11 key corridors.

The buses will get passengers to their destinations faster by making fewer stops, requiring passengers to pay prior to boarding, and using technology that reduces the waiting time at lights.
